Event Description

Celestial Observation with Tom Sylvester hosted by the Northern Chapter

The event will begin with grilled hamburgers and hotdogs starting at 6PM followed by a discussion regarding the Earth’s movement in relation to the stars and sun and how that affects what we observe from the ground. After that, teams of 2-3 people will be formed to go through the steps of completing the observation led by Tom.
Please note, it is highly recommended that you complete the homework in advance or at least read through the coursework. Tom is offering continued education credit, but you must submit the homework to him no later than Monday 8/5 at 5PM to receive full credit.
Fee covers cost of dinner and Tom’s hotel.
Tom has also offered to show anyone a solar observation on Saturday morning, but this is to be coordinated directly with him if you are interested. Please email Tom at tomsylvester@merrittls.com.
