NGS’s ~15 year old Gravity for the Redefinition of the American Vertical Datum (GRAV-D) project has finally flown every data line at least one time. This data, purposed for gravimetric geoid modeling, can be improved on and NGS intends to keep flying certain regions to improve the dataset. This webinar will include an overview of why the GRAV-D project was started, what we’ve accomplished, and a bit on how NGS collects and processes airborne gravity data. Also included, is a look at near term plans for both airborne and terrestrial gravity data collection at NGS.
